The Kachok language has been studied and worked on for some time before the project began to test its orthography. Over the past two years, they have actively trained volunteer teachers and established literacy classes. The community has embraced language learning and teachers are showing resilience and determination despite challenging wet season conditions. The community’s desire and motivation to implement literacy classes and translate songs into their own language demonstrates ownership and participation.
We are the primary funding partner but another organisation within our international family also makes a significant contribution.
